After several decades of being dilapidated, the re-construction of Uto-Okuha Ogaminana bridge in Adavi Local Government Area has been initiated by the Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Yakubu Oseni.
The impassable bridge which was neglected for years thereby causing untold hardship on the people of Ogaminana recieved the attention of Senator Oseni through a phone call by an elder of the community, Adayi Okaraga.
Adayi Okaraga who nostalgically reminisced the excruciating pains members of the community have had to undergo while accessing other communities through the bridge, said he grew to witness its decrepit condition.
“I was in primary school when the gradual washing away of the bridge began. We had once fell palm tree across the bridge so we can access other communities. The total collapse of the bridge eventually occurred when we had no one to assist in repairing the damage caused by annual rainfall,” he recounted.
The visibly elated Adayi Okaraga who offered to lead grateful members of the community on appreciation visit to Senator Oseni, said God sent the lawmaker to perform a messianic role in solving the collective suffering of the people.
While praying for divine protection and elevation of the lawmaker, Adayi Okaraga further implored good-spirited individuals to complement Senator Oseni’s effort by providing potable water for the community.
