The welcome speech delivered by the president National Association of Igalamela/Odolu students Kogi State University Anyigba Chapter. In person of HRH. Comr. Rotr. Alfa Sank Hamza, on this day 3rd of December 2020. By the special grace of God. Before I proceed, I want to vividly give thanks to God Almighty for making this day auspicious and possible for us to coverage peacefully here today. I want to recognise the present of the royal fathers in our midst, our political leaders here present, the business tycoons, our beloved father and mother’s, students leaders, ladies and gentlemen here present.
National association of Igalamela/Odolu students is peculiarly a students platform, were all students from Igalamela/Odolu schooling in KSU harmonise their selves to foster love and sorenity, unity in one voice.
This program is targeted of using culture to curb social vices like cultism, prostitutions, drug abuse, stealing, kidnapping and disunity among the students and to create a clearity between the concept of culture and religion( Culture is way of life while religion is a way of worship) Before the advantage of religion, there was culture.Having realised how powerful our culture is(Igala culture precisely) the colonists imposed the alien culture on us and took away our colourful and beautiful culture.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVE OF THE ASSOCIATION
1. To foster unity and love
2. To assist members in time of needs
3. To reduce dubious character like drug abuse, fighting, stealing and cultism to minimum level.
ACHIEVEMENT OF THE ADMINISTRATION
1.Participation in the inter local government football competition hosted by the Igala students association.
2. Distribution of past questions to the new students.
3. Distribution of past lectures note to new students
4. Participation in the Igalamela youth parlay organized by Igalamela Youth Reinassance group.
DEMAND OF THE ASSOCIATION
1. The association need chairs
2. The association also need financial supports for some of the members who are finding it difficult to meet up with their tuition fee.
3. We also need food stuffs to distribute to member
4. Excursion of members to state assembly, tourist board.
5. Financial support to organiz anti-cultism campaign within the campus.
We will be glad and greatful if our our demand are been look into.
WORDS OF ADVICE TO MY FELLOW STUDENTS
To my fellow students, In regards to any activities we might engaged ourselves in within the school and outside the school, let us not forget our primary aim of been in this citadel of learning. Let our academics be our top most priorities. We should shun any negative activities(like examination malpractice, cultism,prostitutions, fighting and drug abuse). And our culture should be treated sacrosanctly.
