TINUBU SUPPORT ORGANIZATION KOGI STATE CHAPTER CANVASSES FOR UNITY AND SUPPORT FOR ASIWAJU
The countdown to 2023 presidential election in Nigeria is on the fast lane, political parties as well as politicians across the wide spectrum are working round the clock to make sure their parties and their candidates secure landslide victories in order to replace President Muhammadu Buhari on 29th May, 2023.
As the case may be now, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is working hard to retain its stronghold in the centre which it has been enjoying in the last seven years or thereabout. At the same time, other opposition parties especially the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is fighting tooth and nail to snatch the presidential victory at all cost.
The battle line has been drawn by the Independence National Electoral Commission (INEC) immediately President Buhari signed the new electoral laws in early March, 2022. The All Progressives Congress’s strongman, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was the first individual to officially announce his good intention to serve and lead Nigeria to the next level of its socio-economic development. Tinubu told President Buhari on 10th January, 2022 at the Presidential Villa that he was offering himself to work for the people of Nigeria. Since then, a number of other personalities have indicated their intentions to do the same in both APC and PDP. But no any individual among these aspirants have received such huge accolades and supports as Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who has stayed aback in the last fifteen years to study the various challenges confronting Nigeria. Now it is time for him to unleash modern developments across Nigeria base on his understanding of the socio-political and economic situations in the country, just as he did in Lagos State. Millions of Nigerians are already queuing behind him to support this good course. No wonder several groups and associations have been incubated, hatched, raised and developed to pursue this noble course.
With the available record at the disposal of this writer, over thirteen such groups have emerged nationwide canvassing for Jagaban towards his presidential bid for 2023. But the most outstanding of them all is the Tinubu Support Organization (TSO) which has the slogan ‘Leadership for Excellence’ as ably being piloted by Hon. Aminu Suleiman, the Jaban of Gwandu. The group has national spread working assiduously to see Jagaban taking the driver’s seat of this nation by next year.
Kogi State is not left out in this national project. Kogi State TSO has its presence in all parts of the state, down to the districts, wards and even family level.
The State Coordinator, Hon. Musa Ashiru Bakare along with other state executive members, senatorial, federal constituency and local government coordinators have re-engineered and refocused the activities of TSO in Kogi State.
Just on the 23rd March, 2022, all state, district, federal constituency and local government coordinators held a way-forward meeting to redirect and re-energize the activities of the Organization towards seeing Asiwaju Tinubu through in his bid.
The meeting was frank and productive, issues were raised on how best to promote TSO in Kogi State. In their separate speeches State Coordinator Hon. Bakare, State Secretary Dr. Haruna Omeiza and Women Leader, Hajiya Rekiya Tijani called on members of TSO to close rank in order to achieve success in Kogi State and Nigeria, similar message was re-echoed by other speakers in attendance.
The Kogi State TSO Inauguration Committee submitted its report to the house which was received by the State Coordinator, Secretary and Women Leader. The coordinator promised to study the recommendations as contained in the report and act appropriately.
Other major discussions at the meeting were on the March, 26th National Convention and the inauguration of TSO in the State. The meeting also passed a vote of confidence on the State Coordinator and his executive members.
There were good commendations from the TSO’s national headquarters as rightly pointed out by its Director- General, Hon. Aminu Suleiman in Lagos who personally paid glowing tributes to Kogi State chapter for the progress work so far made by the Organization in the State.

The meeting which lasted for well over three hours had the Secretary of the Organization Dr. Haruna Omeiza as well as Hajiya Rekiya Tijani, Women Leader among others in attendance. The Conference hall of Omegah Hotels Lokoja was jam-packed by scores of Asiwaju’s supporters and coordinators to partake in the meeting.
