DEPUTY SPEAKER, KSHA, APPLAUDS GOV ODODO’S STRIDES WITHIN 100 DAYS IN OFFICE

The Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba, has extoled the sterling performance of the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alh Ahmed Usman Ododo, within his 100 days in office, saying, the days are indicative of greater heights for the state in the days to come.

The Deputy Speaker stated this in a message to the State Governor, and made available to the press, to mark Alh Ahmed Usman Ododo’s 100 days in office.

Governor Ododo was sworn in on 27 January 2024, and clocked 100 days on 3 May, 2024.

Hon Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba said Governor Ododo had proved within the short period of occupation of the office of the Governor, that he was capable of moving Kogi State higher.

She specifically mentioned the areas Governor Ododo had excelled and surpassed expectations to include education, security, workers’ welfare and infrastructure.

“Today, as you mark your 100 days in office, history would smile at you for your sterling leadership qualities already displayed in the area of education. Today, our primary and secondary school children have access to free education. Our tertiary institutions are making steady progress under your watch.

“Only last week, the workers in the state got their full salaries across the local and state levels. This is a feat that has singled Your Excellency out among contemporaries of history.

“In addition, your proactive steps towards ensuring the security of lives and property in the state are commendable. You proved this recently by distributing vehicles to all the 21 local governments security outlets in the state for effective operation and delivery.”

The Deputy Speaker said the governor, within 100 days, had on two occasions, distributed food items to the people of the state to cushion the effect of the present economic realities on them.

Governor Ododo had also initiated loudable projects in the state, including the planned airport, which would be the first of its kind since Kogi was created.

She added that only a leader who meant well for his people would do all these.

Rt Hon Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba appealed to Governor Usman Ododo to carry on with his good works. She pledged her support for government in her capacity.

While praying to God to protect His Excellency, Ahmed Usman Ododo and his deputy Elder Joel Oyibo ,the Deputy Speaker of the State Assembly also called on the people of the state to cooperate with the Governor for more gains of democracy.

She expressed the hope that the Governor would give attention to other areas in need such as construction and rehabilitation of roads in critical areas (like Ibaji), and additional provision of healthcare facilities to augment existing ones across the state. Finally, she prayed for the sustainance of the full payment of salaries to workers. She assured Governor Ododo of the cooperation of the State Legislature in all people-oriented programmes and initiatives.
