Kogi LG Polls: Kogi Assembly Speaker, Wife, Others, Attend Lokoja LGA APC campaign flag off

The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf has attended the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, flag off of campaign for the October 19 Chairmanship Election in the State.

A press statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Yabagi Mohammed said the wife of the Speaker, Hajiya Ahmadu Zainab was also in attendance.

The statement said Hajiya Zainab was accompanied by wives of the members of the National and State Houses of Assembly from Lokoja/Kogi Federal and state constituencies.

Speaking at the occasion, Rt Hon Umar applauded the leadership of the APC in Lokoja Local Government for its show of capacity and commitment towards ensuring victory for the party and assured that the candidate, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu would provide quality leadership when elected.

He expressed assurances that those at the helm of affairs in the council and federal constituency would not waver in their commitment to the party.

He thanked the State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo’s leadership style that has made possibility of victory for the easier.

The Speaker also applauded the immediate past Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for ensuring that the current Governor succeeds and promised to ensure the ideals he has bequeathed the state was sustained.

Speaking in an interview with journalists at the venue, wife of the Speaker, Hajiya Zainab Ahmadu expressed joy over the huge turnout for the campaign and assured that she would mobilise the women of the Local Government to ensure massive victory for the APC on the 19th of October.

She described the candidate of the party as a sellable individual who has the interest of the council at heart, noting that he is the right person to lead the Local Government at the moment.

The leader of the party in the Federal Constituency, His Excellency, Alhaji Suleiman Baba-Ali, candidates of the party from other local government areas and other stakeholders were also present at the flag off.
