The wife of the Kogi State Governor, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo, has reiterated her commitment to the providing succour for the vulnerable in the society, called on Nigerians to show more care and love to person with autism and cerebral palsy.
This is as Prince. Idoko Isaac, the Executive Director, Association for Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Nigeria, Kogi State Chapter, hosted Children with autism and Cerebral Palsy at the Daratola Foundation, beside GRA, AEDC office, Lokoja.
Speaking at this year’s Children’s day celebration for Daratola Foundation, the First Lady said no one has the power to make himself healthy, hence, the need to show love and care to the vulnerable in the society.
Represented by wife of the State Attorney General and Commissioner For Justice, Princess Karimat Abdullahi, the Kogi State First Lady said so much of God’s blessing abound when people give back to the vulnerable and less privileged in the society.
She promised a partnership with Daratola Foundation, described the home as unique and first of it kind in the State. She promised to support them with the needed support to provide care for the children.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Fatima Momoh, appealed to Nigerians to show concern to issues affecting women, children and the vulnerable in the society.
Represented by the Director Planning Research and Statistics, Ministry of Women Affairs, Isaac Inah, said the better way to show love, is by impacting the lives of people who cannot help themselves positively.
She noted that the world remains an endangered place to live in if the society has more vulnerable people, praised the administration of Gov Usman Ahmed Ododo for his love for the vulnerable.
In his remarks, the State Chairperson, Kogi NGO Network, Comr. Muraina Ozovehe assured of partnership that is in the best interest of the children, particularly children with Autism and Cerebral Palsy.
The KONGONET Chairperson praised AONN led by Zico foundation for the commitment to providing support for vulnerable children in the society.
Dr. Funmilayo Onifade, Consultant with the Hospital Teaching Hospital said, children with autism and palsy should not be stigmatized but be handled well.
She advocated registering them for health insurance to help out in their health needs, said they are vulnerable, prune to sickness at all times.

Aonn Coordinator, Kogi State chapter, called for help for vulnerable children.
He described Daratola Foundation as the first of it kind in the State, reason why the Celebration was organized by the Association for orphans and vulnerable children in the State.
Olaleye Toyin, the Proprietress of Daratola Foundation praised Annon for celebrating the incredible resilience and potential of children with special needs.
In her remarks, Pastor Roseline Alabi, said Daratola Foundation is a Centre for autism and cerebral palsy,
Praised the State Government and AONN for the support for vulnerable children in the society.
She described Daratola Foundation as first of it kind in the State, said the initiative to celebrate with the vulnerable children in this year’s Children’s day is remarkable.
In her response, a Care giver, Ameh patience, said it is not there wish to be born for cerebral and palsy children to be born, added that the challenge of feeding, providing pampers, antiseptic and Dettol requires the support of the State Government.
She urged for support for the governor to come to the aid of the family and children in the home.
Hajia Medinat Farouk, wife of the Commissioner for Water Resources Engr Yahaya MD Farouk accompanied the wife of the State Governor for the visit.
Highlights of the occasion was the cutting of the Children’s day cake and presentation of gifts provided by AONN to the children.
