The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Comrade Joel Salifu, today graciously received in audience Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, the Honorable Minister for Steel Development, along with his aides, at his residence in Ejule, Ofu Local Government Area.
In his remarks, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu stated that he paid the visit to extend his best wishes for a joyful Sallah celebration, and to inform the Deputy Governor of his intention to engage with the people of Kogi East. He said the meeting aims to brief them on the achievement of the President over the past two years, and to draw more support for the president.
He solicited the support, and presence of the deputy governor at the stakeholders’ engagement. And praised Governor Ododo over his transformative leadership in the past year, pledging support for the success of the current administration in the state.
In response, the Deputy Governor said that interactions with the grassroots are important in governance, saying that the people will be actively included in matters that concerns them. He expressed optimism that the plans to meet with the people have reignited his hope that the APC in Kogi East will continue to win against all challenges. Urging the minister to continue emulating his father by remaining connected with the grassroots.
He lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for elevating the nation’s stature on the global stage, affirming that Kogi is firmly in support of the President to succeed and serve the country untill 2031. He revealed that former Governor Yahaya Bello, Governor Ododo, and the entire state are diligently working to support and secure President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory in 2027 election.
He prayed for divine empowerment and wisdom for the Minister to continue in his efforts to connect with his people. Urging him to intensify efforts to revive the moribund Ajaokuta Steel Company for the benefits of the state.
