Though not an Ogorian, Sam3 became one of us through his sincere love, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to the growth of our community. A proud son of Kabba, he dedicated himself passionately to the development of volleyball in Ogori alongside Mr. Alhassan.
One memory that now lingers painfully in my heart was during the final of the volleyball competition at the 2026 Ovia Osese Festival. I sat beside him as we watched the excitement, energy, and talent displayed by our young people on the court. As the game progressed, he spoke passionately about his dreams and future plans for volleyball in Ogori. He envisioned a stronger structure, better opportunities for young talents, and a future where Ogori would become known for producing outstanding volleyball players.
Today, it is heartbreaking to realise that the same man who sat beside me full of vision, hope, and passion has been taken away by death.
Sam3 was instrumental in the growth of volleyball in our community and played a significant role in encouraging some of our sons and daughters who today play professional volleyball abroad. He believed in our youths, invested his time in them, and celebrated their success as though they were his own children.
Though he was not born an Ogorian, his love for Ogori was genuine, and Ogori embraced him wholeheartedly. His life reminds us that true belonging is defined not merely by origin, but by service, sacrifice, and love for humanity.
As President of the Ogori Descendants Union, I honour his memory and celebrate the impact he made in the lives of many. May God comfort his family, the people of Kabba, the volleyball community, and everyone grieving this painful loss.
