Hon. Paul Ukwenya is emerging as a top contender for the Idah Federal Constituency seat ahead of the 2027 House of Representatives election, with supporters pointing to his record of service, business experience, and grassroots reach.
Hon. Ukwenya built his public profile through community leadership and public administration. He previously served as Vice Chairman and later Acting Chairman of a Local Government within Idah Federal Constituency. Allies argue that experience gave him firsthand knowledge of governance and the political depth needed to “reposition” the constituency.
During his time in local government, Ukwenya was noted for accessibility, prudent resource management, and driving grassroots development. In his private career as a successful businessman, he is credited with creating jobs and supporting community initiatives across Ibaji, Idah, Igalamela Odolu, and Ofu LGAs.
“His style of engagement has always been about bringing people together and delivering results,” a close associate said, crediting Ukwenya’s consultation with traditional institutions, youth groups, and community leaders.

Backers argue that a House of Representatives platform would expand his capacity to attract federal projects, strengthen inclusion, and consolidate development gains for the people of Idah Federal Constituency.
