Kwara Customs PRO Bags National Award for Anti-Smuggling Campaign

The Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Kwara Area Command, DSC Sani Mohammed Suleiman, has emerged as the winner of the Best Anti-Smuggling Awareness Campaign Award at the 2026 Annual Public Relations Conference.
The award was presented during the conference’s Gala and Awards Night held on Thursday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, in recognition of his outstanding efforts in promoting public awareness against smuggling and strengthening the public image of the Kwara Area Command through effective communication strategies.
Reacting to the honour, Suleiman dedicated the award to the Customs Area Controller of the Kwara Area Command, attributing the achievement to the controller’s visionary leadership and unwavering support.
He said the confidence reposed in officers by the command’s leadership had created an enabling environment for personnel to excel in their various responsibilities.
“This recognition reflects the support and encouragement we receive from our leadership, which has inspired us to remain committed to public enlightenment and anti-smuggling advocacy,” he said.
The award recipient also expressed appreciation to officers and members of the command’s Public Relations Unit for their dedication and teamwork, describing the honour as a collective achievement.
He further commended the management, officers and personnel of the Kwara Area Command for their cooperation, trust and support, noting that their contributions were instrumental to the success of the awareness campaigns.
Suleiman also praised media organisations and journalists in Kwara State for their consistent collaboration, saying their partnership significantly boosted the visibility of the command’s anti-smuggling campaigns and contributed to the national recognition.
The Nigeria Customs Service, Kwara Area Command, congratulated its spokesperson on the achievement and reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining public enlightenment initiatives aimed at discouraging smuggling and strengthening border security across the state.
