The Kogi State House of Assembly has received the State Chapter of the League of Women Voters of Nigeria (NILOWV) on an advocacy visit to further advance the call for the creation of special seats for women in legislative houses. The high-level meeting, held at the State House of Assembly Chamber, brought together State Assembly Members and Local Government Chairmen, with discussions centred on inclusive legislation, gender equality and increased women’s representation in governance.
The Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba, commended NILOWV for its advocacy and efforts towards advancing women’s political participation. She reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote inclusive governance and strengthen women’s representation in the political space.
