As the 2027 general elections gather momentum, it is imperative for the entire people of “YAGBA FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY” to rise in unity and demand justice and fairness for the good people of Mopamuro LGA.
Over the years, Mopamuro LGA has been underrepresented in the rotation of the House of Representatives seat for Yagba Federal Constituency.
While Yagba West LGA has had the opportunity to represent the constituency for 12 years, and Yagba East LGA is set to complete its own 12-year tenure by 2027, Mopamuro LGA has had only four years of representation at the National Assembly.
This disparity deserves serious political consideration, particularly given Mopamuro’s significant contributions to the socio-economic, political and overall development of Yagba Federal Constituency and Kogi State.
The principles of equity, fairness and inclusive representation should remain central to our political engagement. As the 2027 political cycle approaches, the people of Yagba Federal Constituency have an opportunity to strengthen the spirit of fairness and ensure that every part of the constituency has a meaningful opportunity to contribute to its representation at the National Assembly.
The people of Mopamuro LGA deserve their rightful turn to represent Yagba Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.
A review of the federal constituency representation reveals a glaring imbalance
The call for Mopamuro Lokan is not just a political demand; it is a call for equity, inclusion, fairness and justice.
It is crucial that the 2027 House of Representatives seat be ceded to Mopamuro LGA and indeed the good, intelligent, articulate, vibrant and conscious people of Yagba are enjoined to support and vote for a Mopamuro candidate. This is not merely a matter of political expediency, it is a necessity grounded in history, justice and equity.
Therefore, by ceding the 2027 House of Representatives Seat to Mopamuro LGA, the stakeholders and constituents would be upholding the principle of rotational representation and arrangements which guarantees justice, fairness, inclusivity and equity. It also brings about peace, love, stability and progress.
Mopamuro LGA should be given the opportunity to take its rightful turn in representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. This will be a significant step toward achieving balanced, equitable and inclusive political representation, while strengthening the collective development and unity of the constituency.
