Alhaji Yusuf Salihu (HAJOHS)* has called on communities across Bassa/Dekina Federal Constituency to approach the 2027 political process with unity, mutual respect and a commitment to inclusive representation.
In a statement he issued in Lokoja today, HAJOHS said his aspiration to represent the constituency should not be viewed as a contest against any particular community or political bloc.
«“This is not a struggle against Okura, Dekina Township, Biradu or Bassa-Komu. It is not about taking anything away from anyone. It is about building a political culture where every community feels included.”»
He said Bassa/Dekina’s strength lies in its diversity and that political competition should not permanently divide communities that share common interests.
According to him, equitable participation can strengthen political trust, expand engagement and encourage communities to see themselves as partners in the development of the constituency.

He also acknowledged the contributions of previous representatives and the various blocs that have participated in the constituency’s political development.
*HAJOHS* urged political stakeholders, community leaders and citizens to maintain peaceful dialogue and respect throughout the electoral process.
