The life of a retiree
One dangerous side of our pilgrimage in life is the life of uncertainty. The day you are born the whole world around you rejoices that a new member is added. From that second there are normally plans on what to do to ensure the new arrival grows well. All the human factors are used to get the new person in a good perspective of life. He attended all the cadres of education, got a job or work and continue life. No sooner he clocks retirement age and returns back to base. If his health did not fail him, he is lucky to re-plan more doors.
The journey continues until one day he is declared gone forever. Why then are we in the world if all that makes life is vanity? This question comes to mind each time l see people being buried in the cemetery. How long has he lived and how much has he achieved while in this pilgrimage. He is up and down struggling to achieve something tangible. He married a wife or wives which may not be a solution to his problem. In some cases it added to existing problems of man. So where do man find a permanent soccour. Is it in religious centres ? Hmmmm the more the wahala. Our great philosophers try to examine the nature of life and often question the very essence of life. What is the nature of life ? What happened after much labour you end the journey in the grave you never negotiated for. That effort ends in the grave. All you are identified with is RIP. That is all, Agama, finish. Every thing stops and you will be left alone to waste away. Why do we come to the world then?
