Kogi State Security Trust Fund, says it will soon establish a logistic base for hunters on roads across the state to curb the activities of men of the underworld.
Executive Chairman of the fund, Abdulmalik Samari Teina disclosed this while defending the twenty twenty one budget of the agency at the assembly complex in lokoja.
He also said that the agency was also planning to procure security vehicles and other apparatus for security agencies in the state as well as install close circuit cameras on hot spots with a monitoring centre.
Mr Teina who explained that the agency had interfaced with many organisations to make voluntary contributions to it, said he had met with the State Security Service to find ways a drone and trackers could be acquired to carryout surveillance and ensure real time policing.
Chairman house committee on security, Hassan Bello Abdullahi who is also the majority leader, said the kogi state governor has been proactive in handling security matters in the state.
He maintained that the house would look into the law establishing the kogi state security trust fund to make it more efficient.
Also defending his ministry’s budget was the commissioner for Agriculture, David Apeh who attributed rhe low revenue of the ministry in the year under review to broken down equipment the inability of the rice millin Ejiba to operate.
He said with the various agricultural intervention programmes and support by the state government the next year was promising for the ministry as the ministry had proposed about five hundred million naira to boost agricultural production through enhanced mechanised farming.
