Nigerian Army* *Pledges Enhanced* *Security for* *CUSTECH, Osara

The Nigerian Army has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening security at the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, Kogi State. This assurance was given during a courtesy visit by the Commander of the 12 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Lokoja, Brigadier General Kasim Umar Sidi, to the Vice Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu, FNSE, in his office on Thursday.

Brigadier General Sidi stated that his visit was aimed at fostering collaboration to enhance the safety and security of the university community. He urged the university management to keep students engaged in academic activities, emphasizing that such engagement would deter them from social vices.

The Army Chief also commended the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, for his unwavering support to security agencies in the state. He noted that despite Kogi State’s strategic location,bordering 10 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT),the governor’s proactive measures have been instrumental in combating criminal activities.

In his response, the Vice Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu, FNSE, expressed gratitude to Brigadier General Sidi for the visit, particularly following his recent assumption of office. He lauded the Nigerian Army and other security agencies for their relentless efforts in safeguarding the nation, especially CUSTECH, Osara.

Prof. Salawu urged the Army to uphold its renowned discipline and professionalism while assuring the institution’s continued support to security agencies in discharging their duties effectively.
