Chief Asuku Bags Sport Philanthropist cum Kogi Central Man Of the Year Awards.

The Chief of Staff to the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Pharm. Abdulkareem Asuku Jamiu has bagged the prestigious Kogi Central Sport Philantropic Man of the Year award for the roles played in sports and in whole the development of youths in the locality and Kogi State at large.

A statement from the organisers of the Agassa Volleyball competition, the Agassa community and supervised by Agassa community Youth Chairman stated that the award is meritorious in all its essence to honour Pharm. Asuku for his contributions to sport development and likewise his efforts to humanity as a whole.

The award was on behalf of Asuku recieved by the the Senior Special Assistant on Youths Empowerments, Hon. Babamba Juwairra on Wednesday at the LGEA School volleyball court in the company of the Senior Special Assistant on industry, Hon. Ogbeni David Oni Sunday, the Youth Development Chairman, Lawal James, the two Special Assistants to the Governor on Grassroots Sensitization, Prince Suleiman Adinoyi and Hon. Kekere Elijah Daniel, plus other distinguished personalities.

It would be recalled that Agassa community had instituted the volleyball competition a long time ago having the Ageva Pro Spikers, Okene Super Stars, Prestige Club and Asuku Volleyball Club also known as Asuku strikers as teams with the aim of sport development, and a means of strengthening peace and unity in the land.

“The administration of Governor Yahaya Bello is poised to develop sports infrastructure in the state and that’s the utmost reason for his Chief of staff, Pharm. Asuku to uphold thesame objective by giving the necessary supports to the Youths of Agassa and kogi central squarely through the volleyball games despite his trying times. This is a synonymous reason we have decided to honour and show dedication to youth and sports development in the state”. Babamba said

The Agassa youth Chairman while speaking, said “I am shocked at what this gentleman has achieved in so short in time. He added that the pedigree of Chief Asuku is second to none, adding that Pharm. Asuku despite being under the test of nature for the abduction of his mother by evil doers, has refused to be soul-stirred but remain faithful in his gestures to humanity. He prayed that God grant the mother of Chief of Staff her freedom soonest.

The Vollyball game ended 3:1 in favour of Asuku strikers who beat the Okene Super Star, followed by the Agassa super star in a keenly contested game to win the trophies at the final.
