

The Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba, joined workers across the state in commemorating the 2026 Workers’ Day celebration held at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre, Lokoja. The event, hosted by the Kogi State Government, brought together key government officials, labour leaders, and stakeholders to honour the contributions of the workforce to the state’s development.
Representing the Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Deputy Governor, Comrade Joel Salifu, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to improving workers’ welfare, highlighting ongoing efforts in prompt salary payments, regular promotions, and continuous capacity development.
Rt. Hon. Egwaba commended the resilience, dedication, and patriotism of Kogi workers, noting that their contributions remain vital to governance and sustainable development. She emphasized the need for continued collaboration between government and labour unions to maintain industrial harmony and drive progress across all sectors.
The celebration also featured goodwill messages from labour leaders, including the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Kogi State Chapter, who acknowledged the government’s worker-friendly policies while advocating for sustained attention to key welfare concerns.
