A Group known as Young Women in Politics Forum has advocated more women inclusiveness in governance at all levels of Government.

The Kogi State Coordinator of the Forum, Barrister Joy Akinola stated this during a visit to Clerk of the State Assembly as part of activities to mark the International Women’s Day.

Barr. Akinola who commended the State Assembly for passing women friendly laws, urged the House to give priority to laws that would ensure more emancipation of women.

She expressed displeasure over the voting against women’s rights enhancement bills at the National Assembly, describing the development as a modern day tragedy.

The Coordinator added that no matter the delay, women will continue to lobby until they are appropriately placed in the Governance of the country.

Responding, the Clerk, Alhaji Ahmed Chogudo congratulated the Forum on this year’s celebration of the women and commended them for recognizing the modest support of the House to women.

He urged them to be steadfast and continue to be responsible and responsive at home and in the society.
