Ahead of gubernatorial election in Kogi state, a political support group under aegis of Ododo EBIGO Connect has called on the three major ethnic groups in the state to entrench mutual peace and progress toward the victory of the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.
The Director General of the group, AbdulGaniyu Okaraga Jimoh made the call on Friday during the official unveiling of ODODO EBIGO CONNECT.
Jimoh who stated that the word ‘EBIGO CONNECT symbolizes “Ebira-Igala-Okun Connect” stressed that the name analysis means entrenching mutual peace and progress amongst the three senatorial district of the state.
While appreciating the great and indefatigable members of the party who displayed their doggedness and utter resoluteness to ensure that their will in party’s primary election reigned supreme, he noted that with unalloyed support and cooperation of all members and supporters APC will be victorious in the forthcoming governorship election.
“All thanks to the leadership and every card-carrying member of our party for the smooth and peaceful conduct of our primary election that produced Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo as the governorship candidate of the All Progress Congress (APC) for November 11 2023 governorship election.
“Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo is a philanthropist that has touched many lives. He possesses leadership qualities that has made him outstanding, dependable in the discharge of his duties.
“He is committed, dedicated, result-driven and diplomatic leader, and has shown absolute transparency, prudence, accountability and leadership skills during recent roles as the Auditor General of local government.
“Ododo is a thoroughbred professional, a goal getter and a passionate Kogite who is ever committed in setting positive standard and we know that he will replicate it and excel in his current engagement.
“Interestingly, the peculiarity of the name “Ododo” amongst the three major ethnic groups of the state commands an atmosphere of hope to our people.
“Ododo in Igala language means “flower”. It also means same in Ebira language and in Okun language it means “Truth” This is indeed a clear testament of the potentiality and validity of the name and what we should be expecting at the long run” he stated.
The group thanked the Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello and the party members for finding Alhaji Ododo worthy and reposing such confidence in him to fly the flag of the party come November 11, 2023.
