The Chief Medical Director of the Kogi State Hospital Management Board Doctor Ayo Olayemi has said that there is need to sustain the achievements in the health sector.
He made this know while defending the boards twenty twenty four budget estimate at the assembly complex.
He said there was urgent need to recruit doctors and other medical personnels to fill the new hospitals built by Governor Yahaya Bello as well as renovate some other hospitals across the state.
Similarly, the Provost College of Health Science and Technology Idah, Doctor Nuhu Solomon Anyegu, says the institution will be focusing on new Programmes that can boost primary health care.
Doctor Anyegu who stated this while defending the college’s budget said the institution had made a quantum leap in the area of academic programmes and infrastructure on the campus.
The provost said he was pursing at the national Assembly a bill that would allow mono-tecnics such as the college of health sciences and technology to benefit from the TET-Fund projects to complement the efforts made by Governor Yahaya Bello.
He maintained that the management of the college has appealed to the Kogi state House of Assembly to make adequate budgetary provide for it’s infrastructural projects of perimeter fencing of the college, construction of administrative block and classes.
