THE Secretary to the Government of Kogi State Dr. (Mrs. Folashade Arike Ayoade) has commended the Central Bank of Nigeria for its initiative in the Agribusiness Alternative Retirement Investment Schemes (AARIS) designed for Government Workers.
She gave the commendation on Thursday when the consultant handling the scheme visited her office to administer forms to the beneficiaries of the scheme.
According to the Government scribe, “Central Banks wise decision to choose Kogi State as a pilot scheme is a clear demonstration of Government`s determination to develop the civil service”.
Dr. Folashade said besides the direct benefit to the civil servants the scheme has multiplier effect on the socio-economic activity of the state.
She praised Governor Yahaya Bello for attracting the first pilot scheme through his dogged determination to develop the state.
Speaking earlier, the consultant in charge disclosed that ten thousand Kogi State Government workers cutting across the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) including staff of the Judiciary as well as institutions of higher learning in the state are to benefit from the laudable programme.
