
Nasarawa State Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Othman Bala Adam says his ministry has succeeded in winning laurels and training youths in different skills acquisition within the state in the last one year.
He stated this when he appeared on a Television Programme to mark One Year Anniversary of Governor Abdullahi Sule in Lafia.
According to the State Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Othman Bala Adam, the Ministry has achieved a lots in the last One Year, winning laurels in different sporting events within and outside the country while releaving six coaches from their duties for lack of productivity in carrying out their duties.
Mr Othman Bala also noted that the present administration under Governor Abdullahi Sule is committed to making sure that youths in the state are given the basic skills to realise and nurture their potentials to become employable.
According to him,the Ministry is bringing out a Blue Print to guide,place the state among the top three in the next five years in Sports and Youth Development.
He said that the sports ministry is in touch with the state athletes to continue to keep fit ahead of the new date for the National Sports Festival earlier shelved due to the corona virus pandemic.
The Sports Commissioner assured that the state government is committed to improving the welfare of both Nasarawa United and Nasarawa Amazon’s Football Clubs in achieving better results in their various leagues.
