The Senator representing Kogi Central senatorial district, Senator Yakubu Oseni has today expressed his profound gratitude to good and spirited individuals who complemented his service to humanity by organising free summer lesson and payment of WAEC and JAMB registration fees for indigent students.

This came on the heels of the benevolent gestures by some groups of people whose life had in one way or the other been touched by the philanthropic act of the lawmaker when he was one of the senior executives in the banking sector and Executive Chairman, Kogi Internal Revenue Service (KIRS).

Senator Oseni, who had in various fora explained that instead of giving him multiple awards, such recognition should be given to the grassroots in terms of educational outreach and health empowerment schemes, an admonition that resulted to the recent payment of WAEC and JAMB registration fees for the less privileged and ongoing free holiday lesson across the five local government areas of Kogi Central.

While urging others who he had assisted in various sectors of the country to take a cue from the gesture, the lawmaker however saw nothing wrong in adopting his name as the sponsor as a gift to him, just as he emphasized that his constituency programme would be implemented in a more holistic approach.

“Indeed, the organisers of the summer lesson and sponsors of the WAEC and JAMB registration have keyed into my burning desires to aid education acquisition at the grassroots. I cannot thank them enough.

“I have designed a more comprehensive and inclusive template for my educational outreach/empowerment across all the five local government areas which will enable us to carry more people along. Also, youths, women and elderly people in my constituency will not be left out of the gesture,” he reiterated.
