LANDMARK JUDGMENT: Audu Siyaka Obe Sentenced to Death for Brutal Murder of Aisha Aminu

In a significant ruling, the Ihima High Court in Obangede, Kogi State, has sentenced Audu Siyaka Obe to death by hanging for the heinous murder of Aisha Aminu, a member of the disabled community. The verdict comes exactly one year after the gruesome crime was committed. The Presiding Judge, Justice Aisha, found the suspect guilty of culpable homicide, an offense punishable by death under the Kogi State criminal penal code.

On June 7, 2023, Aisha Aminu was brutally stabbed multiple times by her alleged former lover, Audu Siyaka Obe, and was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. The sentence brings closure to the family of the victim and the disabled community, who had been seeking justice for the senseless killing.

The landmark judgment serves as a deterrent to potential perpetrators of similar crimes, emphasizing the severity of the law in punishing such heinous offenses. The case has sparked widespread attention, highlighting the need for increased protection and support for vulnerable members of society.
