The Solomon Ladi Boro’s Education Foundation (SBEF) has awarded bursary to fifteen students of the Cathedral Church of St. Peter, Ogori, in Ogori-Magongo Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The Foundation was instituted by the Family of the late Mr. Solomon Ladi Boro to immortalise his lifelong passion for education and commitment to empowering young people through learning. Mr. Solomon Boro, the Doyen of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, passed away at the age of 71.
Under the Foundation’s Bursary programme, seven students in higher institutions received ₦100,000 each, amounting to a total of ₦700,000. The beneficiaries are Gloria Efan Ayodele, Bamidele Precious Uniniafore, Alabi Faith, Omole Bosede Oluyemisi, Zeenat Ize Momojimoh, Gbenro Precious Jegede, and Jegede Osiafore Godwin.
Eight students preparing for the National Examinations Council (NECO) Examinations received ₦30,000 each, bringing the total amount disbursed under this category to ₦240,000. The beneficiaries are Olori Mercy Damilola, Mike -Boro Peculiar, Godwin Divine Favour, Aiyepada Vera, Osiyi Godswill, Osiyi Praise O., Abdulkarim Bose, and Bamidele Fredrick.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Foundation, Venerable Paul Lamidi Usman, who is also the Sub-Dean of the Cathedral Church of St. Peter expressed appreciation on behalf of the beneficiaries and the entire leadership of the church for the philanthropic and impactful gesture of the Boro’s family.
He said the establishment of the Foundation by the Family of the late Mr. Solomon Boro was a fitting way to immortalise their father’s enduring love for education and his commitment to supporting young people. He noted that the Bursary awards would encourage the beneficiaries to remain dedicated to their studies and prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the family and the Solomon Boro’s Education Foundation
In his remarks,the head of the family,Mr.Emmanuel Bolaji Boro JP, expressed the appreciation of the family to the Venerable and the entire Diocese for working along with the family in this process. He thus ,solicited for continued prayers for the family,so that they will be able to sustain the committment.He pledged the family’s resolute to Keep the memories of Late Solomon Ladi Boro fresh always .
