DEPUTY SPEAKER ATTENDS INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF WOMEN FARMERS 2026 EVENT
The Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba, on Wednesday, 26 August 2026, attended an event organised to mark the International Year of Women Farmers 2026 in Kogi State.
The event was organised by the IFAD-assisted Value Chain Development Programme (VCDP-AF), Kogi State, in conjunction with the Kogi State Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, to recognise the contributions of women farmers to agriculture, food production and the state’s economic development.
The event provided an opportunity to highlight the important role of women in the agricultural sector and the need for continued support, access to resources and opportunities that can strengthen their productivity and livelihoods.
The Deputy Speaker commended the organisers for recognising the contributions of women farmers and reaffirmed the importance of supporting women who contribute significantly to food security and the development of their communities.
