Kwara: Two Suspected Kidnappers In Police Net

The Kwara State Police Command has arrested two suspected collaborators linked to the kidnapping of three persons in Ifelodun Local Government Area, saying the operation was part of an ongoing crackdown on kidnapping networks across the State.
The suspects, identified as Sauni Shehu and Auwalu Bala, were apprehended following intelligence-led investigations that allegedly connected them to the abduction of three victims at Ogele Fulani Camp, via Igbaja, in Ifelodun Local Government Area.
According to a statement issued on Friday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, the suspects are being investigated for alleged criminal conspiracy, aiding and abetting kidnapping, as well as kidnapping.
The police spokesperson said the suspects were providing investigators with useful information that could lead to the arrest of other members of the criminal syndicate.
“The relentless pursuit of criminal elements and everyone connected to their activities continues to yield tangible results as operatives of the Kwara State Police Command have arrested two suspects for their alleged roles in facilitating the kidnapping of three persons in Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state,” the statement read.
It added that efforts had been intensified to identify and apprehend every other member of the gang, stressing that the command remained committed to dismantling criminal networks and bringing all those involved to justice.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Adekimi Ojo, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to tackling kidnapping and other violent crimes through intelligence-led policing.
He urged residents to continue supporting security agencies by providing timely and credible information, assuring that all intelligence received would be professionally utilised to strengthen ongoing operations.
“The Command remains resolute in advancing the policing vision of the Inspector-General of Police, anchored on intelligence-led policing, proactive crime prevention, and the protection of lives and property,” the commissioner said.
