Kogi Speaker commends Governor Yahaya Bello for lifting the lockdown in Kabba/Bunu

Member representing Kabba/Bunu State Constituency and Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Prince Matthew Kolawole has commended Governor Yahaya Bello over his decision to relax the ongoing lockdown in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area.

According to him,  Governor Yahaya Bello is a man of compassion that feels what the people are going through hence he decided in line with the plead of His Royal Majesty, Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi, the Obaro of Kabba and Chairman, Okun Area Traditional Council to relax the lockdown.

He said it is evident that the purported Covid-19 index case in Kabba is false as many of the samples collected returned negative, stressing that the people of the community will remain grateful for the timely decision of the Governor.

He urged the people of the community to unite in their pursuit for the overall development of the community, noting that any community divided against itself may not witness meaningful progress.

He charged other politicians in Okun land to engage in politics of development not that of destruction irrespective of party affiliation, stressing that development of our communities should be our ultimate goal.

Rt. Hon. Kolawole admonished the people that despite the relaxation of the lockdown, they should continue to adhere strictly to the guidelines of the WHO, NCDC and Ministry of Health by observing the Covid-19 protocols of regular hand washing, social distancing, promotion of personal hygiene, wearing of face masks and use of hands sanitizers.

Femi Olugbemi,
Chief Press Secretary to the Honourable Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly
