Residents of Orietesu Ward in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State have commended the State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Hon. Abdulazeez Idris King, for extending the borehole rehabilitation initiative to their community under the Renewed Hope Water System Project, Phase Two.
The intervention, which is part of ongoing efforts to improve access to clean and potable water across communities in the state, has brought relief to residents who have long grappled with inadequate water supply.
Speaking on behalf of the community, Mallam Sadiku Ondeku Usman, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the former lawmaker for what they described as a timely and impactful gesture.
Mallam Usman noted that the rehabilitation of the boreholes would significantly ease the burden of sourcing water, particularly for women and children.
Hon. Abdulazeez Idris King, who has continued to champion grassroots development through the Renewed Hope Ambassadors platform, in his remarks reaffirmed his commitment to improving the living conditions of the people.
He emphasized that access to safe water remains a critical component of public health and community development, assuring that Renewed Hope Water Project would reache every part of the state.
The Phase Two of the Renewed Hope Water System Project is expected to cover more communities across Kogi State, as part of broader efforts to complement government initiatives aimed at enhancing basic infrastructure and improving the welfare of citizens.
Community members in Orietesu Ward have, however, called for the sustenance and expansion of such interventions to ensure long-term access to clean water in rural areas.
